Fifth remote lunchtime talk from the Archives for Learning and Education Section

The fifth remote lunchtime talk from the Archives for Learning and Education Section of the ARA will take place in July, and is being given by Sara Bird and Gillian Johnston, Education Outreach Officers at Newcastle University Library. In this role, they draw collectively on over two decades of experience in working with young people and secondary school teachers to develop educational resources and projects for school children of all ages.

Much of the education and outreach work Sara and Gillian do with schools, involves Archives and Special Collections – from working with the Digital Library Services team to develop archives-inspired websites, to planning and running projects with local schools which combine archives with enquiry and project-based learning.

Their talk entitled: You win some, you lose some! A candid account of the successes and failures of archives education outreach activities during a global pandemic’ will be held using Microsoft Teams at 1pm on Monday 12th July 2021. After the talk there will be the opportunity for questions and discussion with the speakers

The event is free to attend for ARA members. To book a place, please complete this online form by Monday 5th July 2021. Information on how to join will be sent to attendees ahead of the event.
